The Journey of Life

January 4, 2022

You need to feel vulnerable in life. When you are at your most vulnerable in life, that’s where your true strength comes from. Very few have ever truly gotten there. It is a constant journey of self-actualization. It is perpetual and you are learning every day.
It is essential to strive towards the base goals of life- love, peace and happiness, but you have to feel and experience all the other emotions as well. Without anger, without hate, you will not truly understand love.

Do I think I go through it regularly?

Yes. But I welcome it wholeheartedly. I too have moments when I feel stressful and in those moments I try to balance myself. You know how you take a pill when you have a headache? It is very similar to how meditation has that effect whenever I am stressed.
This is one of the many reasons I have trodden towards the path of spirituality. I genuinely believe spirituality should be a way of living. But, it is easier said than done. To live spiritually within a society that is not being particularly spiritual, you will always have conflicts. I see three main tools at our disposal to overcome this:

  • Acceptance of – what we have, who we are, where we are, etc.
  • Appreciation of – what has been given, who we have become, where we have reached, etc.
  • Acknowledgement of – truth, existence, environment, deed, etc.

If you really want to live in the present, you need to have acceptance and appreciation for what you have around you. And what you have around you constitutes both the good and the bad. So appreciate everything around you. And remember to acknowledge the things that you have done and all the things that you have.

I go through this every day and have a tough time like everybody else. Perhaps a little more than most people. But that is subjective because I can never truly know what others are going through. You always feel that we are the ones who are bigger sufferers than others.
You are good as long as you are not allowing that to affect your life. The moment you deviate and focus on changing your core self on the basis of what others feel about you, you end up on the wrong path.

I think balance is key in this regard as long as all aspects of your life are considered. Based on your experiences and what you feel; not what the world tells you. And whenever you feel that those experiences are becoming less meaningful for you, do things that are more meaningful for you. And in this manner regain your balance. Regain your control over life. And live with the
mindfulness and purpose that brings to your life.
